Carla is an award-winning filmmaker, screen composer and musician. For 10 years she was a principal flute with the Opera Australia Orchestra, performing at the Sydney Opera House.

She runs her own sound and video art production company - See Tea Productions - specialising in the making of arts documentaries, sound and video art and creating music and sound for film. The Art of Sound, for string quartet and narration was made for ABC Radio National. The multi-award-winning documentary, Sex, Drugs & String Quartets was broadcast on ABC TV and NZ TV, shown at many international film festivals and won Carla an Australian Guild of Screen Composers Award for Best Music for a Documentary in 2005. Earlier films have won awards at WOW, Byron Bay Film Festival and Gold Coast Experimental Film Festival. She has also written scores for several short films and one major series, Frocks Off for SBS TV, which was nominated for an Australian Guild of Screen Composers award. Her latest film The Last Violin, won two European Best Documentary awards and is presently broadcast on SBS On Demand.

Carla has a psychology degree from the University of Sydney, a Masters degree in music and film from the Queensland University of Technology and a Doctorate from the University Technology Sydney which incorporates music, film, visual arts and psychology.
